At a time when traditional cultures are rubbing shoulders, meeting and sometimes clashing, the risk of intolerance, discrimination or extremism is growing. Secular and religious structures in our societies are under considerable pressure from this process of globalisation. In the face of such challenges, each person should be able to find his or her own niche beyond the apparent contradiction between tradition and modernity.
In this context then, where humankind is seeking new landmarks, Jeltje GORDON-LENNOX founded the Ashoka Association in Geneva in 2002 to meet this need. The association welcomes and accompanies people of all backgrounds through the major passages of life and encourages them to explore their unique spiritual path.
The association offers a secular spiritual accompaniment through the major passages of life. Respect for the culture and values of each individual, couple and family is of utmost importance and inherent in all of the services provided.
Objectives:
- Tailor-made ceremonies to mark the significant passages of life
- Counselling for individuals, couples and families facing difficult transitions
- Seminars
to prepare for important transitions with meaningful rites of passages
that celebrate the arrival of a child, a wedding or the life of a loved
